Traditionally, the Seattle Poker Open holds at least 1 Special Events per season.  These Special Events are not considered 'regular season' tournaments and differ greatly from the weekly tournaments for each division.

Special Events are always a format of tournament that you will not find in regular season play, and may even be hard pressed to find elsewhere at all.  Some are the brainchild of the SPO Creative Team, hard at work thinking up new and exciting way for you to have fun. 

In addition, these Special Events are generally a lot larger than the weeknight regular season tournaments.  Traditionally they are held on Saturdays to allow those players that may not be able to make a weeknight event.  They last a bit longer as well, with past events hosting more than 75 players.

Special Events are also the only time a cash prize may be awarded in the SPO.  In addition, the individual winner of the event receives a guaranteed seat in the Season Championship.
