Week 7 Update - Go Bounty Hunting!
Steve Burnham became the second player this season to grab the Weekly Points Leader twice. Steve nailed a victory early in the week at the Highliner on Monday night, and then padded his lead with 95 Sit 'N Go points at Jillian's on Tuesday. None of his competition could gather enough points on Wednesday to knock him off the top, so he won the free buy in to Tulalip's Saturday tournament. Congrat's Steve!

Weekly Points Leader

This week's Featured Player of the Week is Erika Jenkins. One of the friendliest at the tables, she is also one of the better players you'll come into contact with at the SPO. She's been in every SPO Championship held, and she became the first female member of the Double Header Club (winning two events in a single night). She also makes strides outside of the league as well, with victories in tournaments in Las Vegas, and other poker leagues. You can read her short bio on the front page of our site, and if you knock her out of a tournament this week, you'll get 20 bounty points!

And speaking of bounties.... We are officially half way through the Winter Season, and it's bounty time! The top 3 ranked players in each division will each have a bounty reward if you are able to knock them out of a regular season tournament (excluding any Sit 'N Go events). #1 ranked player will be worth 25 points, #2 is 15 points and #3 is 10 points. But remember, bounties are "rubber" bounties this season. What that means is if the bounty can survive to make the final table of the event, they receive their own bounty points! To find out who is a bounty, just check the stat's sheet that is on the table at the beginning of every tournament. Each week the bounty's can change, depending on how well each player performs.

Week 6 Update - Top Per!
The fight for Weekly Points Leader was written pretty early in the week last week. Christoph Spring edged out Per Widlund at the Highliner on Monday to grab an early lead. He then slightly padded that lead at Jillian's with 65 Sit 'N Go points. But Per dug in and grabbed chips like they were going out of style at the Pike Pub on Wednesday night. Per came to the final table with slightly less than average stack, and just dominated his way through the pack of 7 opponents. He took his victory early in head's up when he grabbed four of a kind 10's, and 171 points! That was also enough to put him over the top on the Weekly Leaderboard. Per will also be this week's Featured Player of the Week, and be worth 20 bounty points if you can knock him out of a tournament. You can read all about Per on our main page...

Week 5 Update - Pusher!
Justin Hicks, better known at the poker table as "Pusher", shoved his way to the top of the Weekly Leader Board for week 5 of the Winter Season. He is one of only a few winners that was able to turn a consistent performance all week, with no actual nightly victories, into a points earning frenzy. Sometimes it pays to just play solidly! Congrats to Justin for grabbing the free buy-in to Tulalip's Saturday tournament. Justin is also the Featured Player of the Week.

The Seattle Poker Open is now an authorized reseller of Copag playing cards. The fine cards that are in use in every SPO tournament are now available for sale directly through us. When the league was created, we researched and tested several different types of playing cards for quality, durability, and cost, and found Copag to be the best. That's why we use nothing else. Bicycle/Hoyle type paper cards were lasting about 1 week in league use, while Copags have lasted several months and are still going strong! Now we can pass our quantity discount down to league members as well. Each 2-deck case is only $14.00. If you would like to make a purchase, just send us an email and we'd be glad to have it ready for you to pick up at a tournament (sorry, we can't ship anything at this time).

Due to some construction at the scheduled venue for the Head's Up Battle, this Saturday's Special Event will be postponed. Unfortunately this was out of SPO's control, and we apologize for any inconveniences it may have caused. The Head's Up Battle will be re-scheduled for March 18th, and will have a much bigger presence. Sign-up's will be announced in a couple weeks.
