Tournament poker is all the rage the past few years, with the rise of televised tournaments. But the bread and butter of any professional poker player is the ring game, or better known as the "cash game".
In a tournament, every player starts with the same amount of chips, and once you loose them all you are out of the game. In a cash game, players are allowed to buy-in for as much as they want, as often as your bankroll allows. So if you go broke chasing that flush draw that never hit, buy some more chips and get back in the game. Since there is no limit on the number of chips a player may buy-in with, there is no real "winner". Once you are done playing, you cash in your chips back into cash, and hope you are up for the night.
In our Special Event, your "cash" will be the points you've earned throughout this season. Players will "purchase" chips to play with using their points. Play one hand or all night, its up to you. Once you are done playing, you can "cash" the chips you leave the table with back into points... hoping that you've earned yourself some points in the process.
To level the playing field between divisions, a ratio of points/chips will be determined for each division. This ratio will determine how many chips you can buy with your points, and how many points your chips will be worth when cashing them in after you are done playing. The following will be the ratio's in play:
The Highliner: 65 chips for each point
Jillian's: 55 chips for each point
The Blarney Stone: 100 chips for each point
Dante's: 80 chips for each point
There will be 8 tables of play, with the following games available:
- Table 1 – No Limit Hold Em 25/50 blinds, 2000 max buy in
- Table 2 – No Limit Hold Em 50/100 blinds, 5000 max buy in
